J.P. Kennedy singled to tie the game in the seventh. Kamehameha scored all three runs with two outs.
"All we were trying to do was get a few baserunners on," Kamehameha coach Vern Ramie said.
"We did that and a bunch of guys came through in the clutch. Sometimes things start snowballing like that. Our guys never give up and as long as we do that anything can happen."
Perkins led off the eighth with a triple to set up Ruth's game-winning hit.
Ikena DuPont entered the game in the seventh and picked up the win for the Warriors.

Kasey Ko's two-run single tied the game at 6. He advanced to third on an error and Mark Veneri singled to center to plate Ko with the winning run.
