Yap scores 29 to lead
Nanakuli past Mililani

Lehua Yap scored 29 points, including 11 in the pivotal third quarter, to lead Nanakuli past Mililani 58-51 last night in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division game.

The Golden Hawks took a two-point halftime lead, but pulled away by outscoring the host Trojans 17-9 in the third quarter.

Mililani tried to come back in a high-scoring fourth quarter, but Nanakuli held on despite making just 6 of 13 free throws in the quarter and 18 of 39 in the game. Yap tacked on seven more points in the final period.

Darci Watanabe led the Trojans with 19 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

Scott went 8-for-10 from the free-throw line as Leilehua remained undefeated in the OIA's Western Division.

Campbell 37, Waianae 34: Jamie Kua scored six of her game-high 14 points in the fourth quarter as the Sabers rallied to defeat the Seariders.

Waianae led most of the way before Campbell took the lead with about three minutes left in the game. Chaunte Jackson sparked the Sabers' comeback with two steals down the stretch.

Michelle Baduria led Maryknoll with 15 points, while Sela Fisilau scored 14 and Cheryl Lee added 13. The Spartans drained six 3-point shots as a team.

University's Diane Okubo led all scorers with 24 points, including four 3-pointers.
