ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

BOYS

>> Derek Turbin, Punahou track and field: The senior won four gold medals and a silver at the Interscholastic League of Honolulu Relays. He anchored the Buffanblu's winning 4x110-meter and 4x180 hurdle relay teams and led Punahou to victories in the long jump and triple jump. His performance helped Punahou win the meet's overall team title.

GIRLS

>> Kelci Naihe, Kahuku basketball, track and field: The senior guard helped the Red Raiders remain undefeated in the OIA East by scoring 26 points in a 59-54 win over Kalani and eight points in a 36-35 win over Moanalua. She also anchored Kahuku's winning 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams at the OIA Relays.

HONOR ROLL

BASKETBALL

>> Rachel Kane, Punahou: Scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting, grabbed seven rebounds and had seven steals in the Buffanblu's 58-36 win over Kamehameha. She also scored nine points and dished out five assists against University.

>> Cheryl Lee, Maryknoll: Hit all 10 of her free throws en route to a 16-point, eight-rebound performance in the Spartans' 51-46 win over Iolani. She also scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a win over Sacred Hearts.

>> Amber Lee, McKinley: Recorded double-doubles in wins over Kailua (11 points, 10 rebounds) and Kaimuki (18 points, 13 rebounds).

>> Latoya Wily, Kalaheo: Scored 21 points in the Mustangs' 67-54 win over Farrington.

>> Chenty Bonifacio, Kalani: Hit for 22 points in the Falcons' loss to Kahuku.

>> Ashlee Vea, Waimea: Scored 23 points in a loss to Kapaa.

>> Stephanie Toshi, Mid-Pacific: Scored 23 points, including three 3-pointers, in a 46-43 loss to University.

>> Diane Okubo, University: Hit for 20 points to lead the Junior 'Bows past Mid-Pacific.

>> Mandy Llamedo, St. Francis: Scored 22 points and drained five 3-point shots in the Troubadours' 52-40 loss to Maryknoll.

>> Ashley Takata, Kalani: Hit for 24 points to lead the Falcons to an 81-73 win over Kaiser in double overtime.

BASEBALL

>> Brett Tanigawa, Moanalua: Went 4-for-5 with three doubles and five RBIs in a 15-14 loss to Kailua.

>> Cid Moses, Waianae: Tossed a no-hitter to lead the Seariders to a 3-0 win over Waipahu. He struck out two and walked two in the complete-game win.

>> Dane Awana, Waianae: Struck out 14 batters in a two-hit performance in a 7-2 win over Radford.

>> Matthew Terukina, Roosevelt: Went 4-for-4 with a home run, double and five RBIs in a 14-12 win over Kailua.

>> Zach McAngus, Kamehameha: Struck out nine batters and gave up two hits in the Warriors' 10-0 win over Damien.

>> Patrick McGuigan, Mid-Pacific: Tossed a complete-game one-hitter in the Owls' 4-0 win over St. Louis.

>> Matt Inouye, Mid-Pacific: Drove in all of the Owls' runs against St. Louis, three coming on a bases-clearing triple.

GOLF

>> Burt Bonk, Hawaii Prep: Shot a 3-under-par 69 to win last week's BIIF tournament at the Waikoloa Village course.

TENNIS

>> Mililani girls team: Captured its ninth consecutive OIA championship with a 3-2 win over Roosevelt.

>> Kaiser boys team: Won the OIA title with a 3-1 win over Mililani.
