The Senate bill to repeal and a House bill to just make changes to the state's controversial traffic camera program to snare speeders are headed for a House-Senate showdown. Van cams in

The House, on a motion by the Republican minority, voted to pull the Senate-passed bill to repeal the program from the Transportation and Judiciary committees for a floor vote.
However, the Democratic majority then put off the second of three required votes on the bill until Friday.
The House approved a bill earlier this session to make changes to the program in response to public outcry.
It would prevent camera-generated speeding citations from increasing car insurance premiums and require that the company operating the camera vans get a flat fee and not a percentage of the revenues.
If the House and Senate cannot reach a compromise before the Legislative session ends May 2, the existing program would continue unchanged.
