Taituave helps Waipahu
steal game from Nanakuli

Jerrel Taituave led all Waipahu scorers with 10 points as the Marauders beat Nanakuli 37-34 last night.

The Marauders scored 18 points in the fourth quarter to erase a four-point deficit.

Nanakuli, who led all the way until the fourth quarter, was led by Ashley Gasper and Lehua Yap. Gasper and Yap combined for 28 of the Golden Hawks' 34 points.

Sacred Hearts 40, Mid-Pacific 39: Brittney Aiwohi made a free throw with no time left on the clock to give the Lancers the win. Aiwohi was fouled on the game's last play and converted the free throw to shoot down the Owls. She finished with 21 points.

Mid-Pacific lost starter Caroline Beddow early in the game due to an injury and was led by Shannon Nishi's 20 points and three 3-pointers.

Kamehameha 72, Maryknoll 55: The Warriors remained undefeated after beating the Spartans by 17 last night at Punahou gym.

Megan Ching dropped in 18 and India Soo added 10 as Kamehameha led from tipoff to the final horn.

Both teams finished strong, combining for 42 points in the final quarter.

Michelle Baduria nailed three 3-pointers and scored 17 points for Maryknoll.

Punahou 62, St. Francis 29: The Buffanblu doubled-up the Troubadors in the first quarter and never looked back on the way to a win. Twelve different players scored for Punahou. Rachel Kane and Becky Hogue led the way with a combined 25 points.

University's Diane Okubo connected on eight field goals, including two 3-pointers and hit both her free throw attempts to finish with a game-high 20 points. Kamaile Durrett added 10 points for the Junior 'Bows.
