Three Plus hits big
with Billboard rank

MORE than a month has passed since Three Plus released its sophomore effort "3+4U," and Tanoa Kapana, Marcus Malepaeai and Karl Zinsman are already making waves on the Billboard music charts.

The band recently debuted alongside acts like Prince, De La Soul, DJ Skribble and even Barry Manilow on the Billboard Top Independent Albums chart (they came in at No. 45). Three Plus also showed up at No. 4 alongside the late Israel Kamakawiwo'ole on the Top World Music Albums chart and at No. 3 on the New Artists Albums (Pacific) chart. Not a bad start at all ...

After a performance at this weekend's Bomb Bucha 2002 at the Waikiki Shell, the band packs up and heads to that big rock for the "Three Plus Bomb Bucha Tour." Ho'onua, Namahana and B.E.T. join Three Plus for concerts in San Jose and Long Beach before heading to Las Vegas for a final mainland show.

If that's not enough traveling for one week, join the guys as they continue the tour to Guam early next month. Island Rhythm 98.5's Lanai and Augie will also join the bands for the trip to host things on stage...

SPEAKING OF Lanai and Augie, better catch them at Dave & Buster's before they go jet setting around the Pacific. Lanai and Augie's Comedy Shack at D&B's showroom on the midway is the spot for laughs with shows at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. tomorrow

Tickets are $10 at the door, but you get a $5 Power Card to use on games for every paid admission. Call 589-2215 for more information. Take a date, make them laugh, then kick their butt at video games afterward. Good times ...

TWO PARTIES at Wave Waikiki over the next week will share a common theme -- both Sanctuary Salon and Pussycat Lounge are celebrating four-year anniversaries at the club.

Saturday night's celebration for Sanctuary Salon also marks the final performance of "L'Histoire de la Lingerie," a choreographed mix of hair, makeup and women's underwear. This weekend's show is billed as the "unrated version," following two earlier performances at the W Honolulu and Zanzabar Nightclub. Unrated, you say? My kind of show ... (see details in story at right.)

Here's a tip: Wear your PJs to the Wave that night and get in free ...

ON TUESDAY, head back down to Waikiki for the four-year anniversary of The Pussycat Lounge. G-Spot, KSM and the rest of the Pussycat crew have been holding it down on the house and trance tip at the Wave, and there should be a lot a fun with flyers touting 15 DJs rocking two rooms. There's even going to be free food ...

Doors open at 10 p.m. for the 21 and older crowd on Tuesday at the Wave. Call 941-0424 or visit www.pussycatprojects. com.
