Members of the Honolulu Fire Department's 85th recruit class received their badges in graduation ceremonies at the Pacific Beach Hotel last night. Retired HFD Battalion Chief Arthur Ugalde pinned a badge on his daughter, Kiana Ugalde, who was one of two women in the class. It is traditional for recruits to ask someone special to pin on their badges upon graduation.
