The following is a preview of movies opening this weekend:

"Ice Age" -- Fox Studios enters the computer-generated feature animation sweepstakes with this entry about the comic misadventures of a woolly mammoth, a sloth, a saber-toothed tiger and squirrel who partner up to return a human infant to his tribe. Ray Romano, John Leguizamo and Denis Leary provide the voices (PG).

"Resident Evil" -- Yet another movie based on a hit video game. Milla Jovovich leads a hit squad, with Michelle Rodriguez, into an underground lab where a zombie virus is on the loose. The squad has three hours before the virus overruns Earth! (R).

"Showtime" -- "Shanghai Noon" director Tom Dey returns with a movie about two L.A. cops (Robert De Niro as the no-nonsense one and Eddie Murphy as a frustrated actor-turned-patrolman) who are cast in a reality TV show. Rene Russo plays the show's producer, and William Shatner is the director who tries to teach the duo some choice "T.J. Hooker" moves (PG-13).
