Tonight and tomorrow, food, entertainment and movies on a 30-foot screen will be offered from 4:30 to 9 p.m. on Queen's Surf beach. "Star Trek: Insurrection" will be shown tonight, and "The Sting" tomorrow at 7 p.m.
From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on both days, radio stations Oldies 107.9 and KINE will feature popular groups while deejays engage the audience with contests and prizes.
Tables will be set up on the Kapahulu pier, or people can picnic on the beach. A wide menu selection will be available from various restaurants.
Tomorrow's brunch will feature entertainment and signature menu items from participating restaurants, and Sheraton Hotels will offer specialty items by island chefs. Scrip sales will begin at 9 a.m.
The area fronting Kuhio Beach will be transformed into an outdoor cafe, with Astroturf, tables, chairs and umbrellas.
Entertainers will include Hawaiian Paradise, Kahala Moon, the Royal Hawaiian Band Glee club and its "Hawaii Calls" presentation, ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro, Kahua and Tihati's Hawaiian Revue.
Both events are held to draw local residents and visitors.
