‘Live Aloha’ creator elated
to see his slogan in Japan

TIRELESS Paul Klink, CEO of Klink Inc., is in Japan, trying to bring Dave and Buster's Japan to reality while also seeking out medical treatment. Klink is the guy who brought us the ubiquitous "Live Aloha" bumper sticker. So you can imagine how his heart skipped a beat while attending an event where President George W. Bush and his entourage were also present, at the Meji-Jingu Shrine in Tokyo, where a wooden wish board was pointed out to him. Hanging on a wall just outside the main entrance, the board was inscribed, "The World Should Live Aloha." ...

ALSO in Japan performing for a jewelry convention at the Ritz-Carlton Osaka was Danny Kaleikini. This came as news to Osaka DJ Kamasami Kong. There were romantic lunches all over town on Valentine's Day, but none more memorable than at La Mer where 50 intimate friends helped Christie Weaver and Warren Scoville celebrate their marriage. Among those toasting the couple were Ann Simpson, Marty Dowling, Carole Brooks and Mike Dailey ...

Speaking will be retired CPO John Finn of Kaneohe, the first CPO Medal of Honor winner of World War II and the last living MOH recipient of the Pearl Harbor attack. Now, at 93, he's the nation's oldest living MOH winner. Also speaking at the affair is Harold B. Estes, 87-year-old former Chief Boatswains Mate who began his Navy career on the USS California in 1935. The event will take place March 30 at 5 p.m. ...

DR. Prat Pal, world's leading expert in Indian Art, has congratulated Indru & Gulab Watumull for being the first family of Indian descent in America to have a museum art gallery named for them. The two are major supporters of the Academy of Arts' Jhamandas Watumull Gallery for Indian Art, named in honor of Gulab's father ... Indian chef Hermant Oberoi is flying in to prepare dinner at "An International Affair" at the Hilton Hawaiian Village March 15, the East-West Center Foundation's annual fund-raiser. Oberoi is exec chef at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Bombay and frequently accompanies India's Prime Minister on trips and prepares his meals.
