Hawaii Pacific wins and loses by 7-3 scores

Hawaii Pacific split a doubleheader with Cal State Stanislaus yesterday in two 7-3 games.

Tascha Berinobis belted a home run and Kristin Fujii had two hits in HPU's first-game win.

Fujii and Milonne Chapman swatted doubles for HPU in the second game.

Top performers

Igor Beljanski, Chaminade basketball: The Silverswords' 6-foot-7 senior center scored 54 points and grabbed 22 rebounds as Chaminade went 2-1 in concluding its final three conference road games of the season.

Scott Salisbury, Brigham Young-Hawaii basketball: The Seasiders' 6-8 junior center continues to stake his claim as the PacWest's best big man. Salisbury grabbed his conference-leading 10th double-double in a win over Hawaii Pacific a week ago.

Jonathan Torres, Hawaii-Pacific baseball: The junior infielder from Kailua has been a force at the plate in his first season with the Sea Warriors. In five games against Arkansas Tech through Wednesday -- all HPU wins -- Torres collected eight hits in 18 at-bats, with a home run, three doubles and 13 runs batted in.
