Sensley will reportedly
go pro or enroll at Fresno

Former all-state basketball selection Julian Sensley has left Iona and is apparently doing a double pump. According to Dan Wetzel, the senior writer for SportsLine.com, Sensley will either declare for the NBA Draft or enroll at Fresno State.

Sensley is currently in California and couldn't be reached for comment. Kalaheo High School athletic director Lee Cashman said neither he nor Mustangs basketball coach Pete Smith had heard from the former Kalaheo player recently.

Sensley enrolled at Iona this semester and was waiting on clearance from the NCAA to compete for the Gaels. Iona coach Jeff Ruland said this week that the 6-foot-9 forward in no longer part of his program.

When his team was competing in the Rainbow Classic last December, Ruland told the Star-Bulletin that he expected that Sensley would turn pro this year if he was unable to play for the Gaels.

Sensley, who played for Kalaheo through his junior year, finished his high school career at St. Thomas More (Conn.) prep school. He originally signed with Cal but did not meet admissions standards and enrolled briefly at Diablo Valley (Junior) College in Pleasant Hill, Calif., last fall.

According to SportsLine.com, Sensley told Ruland on Tuesday that he was looking into enrolling at Fresno State. However, since Sensley practiced and attended classes this semester at Iona, he would have to sit out the next three semesters before he is eligible to play in college.

The NBA option seems very likely for Sensley, who grew up in Kailua. Ruland told the Star-Bulletin that Sensley could be a lottery pick but, SportsLine.com quotes NBA personnel as saying he would be a second-round pick at best.

Hawaii basketball coach Riley Wallace had offered Sensley a scholarship to play for the Rainbows two years ago but was turned down in favor of Cal.
