Fourth quarter charge
boosts Rough Riders

Roosevelt exploded for 20 points in the fourth quarter to rally for a 55-42 road win over Moanalua last night.

Moanalua led 36-35 going into the final period, but Casey Gouveia and Andrew Choy combined for 14 points in the quarter to lead the Rough Riders to the Oahu Interscholastic Association Eastern Division victory.

Gouveia finished with a game-high 22 points, hit three 3-point shots and went 7-for-8 from the free throw line. Choy finished with 12 points.

Chris Young and David Kilborn led Moanalua with 13 points each.

Kalaheo 88, Kalani 46: at Kalaheo, Ikaika Alama-Francis scored 20 of his game-high 24 points in the first half as the Mustangs rolled past the Falcons.

Alama-Francis scored 12 points in the first quarter to help Kalaheo build a commanding lead. D.C. Daniels finished with 20 points for Kalaheo, with 11 coming in the third quarter.

Robert D'Amato hit four 3-point shots and led Kalani with 15 points.

McKinley 43, Kailua 41: At Kailua, Curt Leong hit for 13 points as the Tigers rallied for a road win over the Surfriders.

Kailua led 35-29 going into the fourth quarter, but McKinley outscored the Surfriders 14-6 in the period to pick up its second win of the season.

Farrington 44, Kaiser 40: At Kaiser, the Governors rallied to take a one-point lead into the fourth quarter and held off the Cougars to pick up the win.

Burt Calaycay and Jay Ocol combined for 10 of Farrington's 15 third-quarter points, which gave the Governors a 30-29 lead. Uriah Seui scored all five of his points in the final period to help Farrington protect the lead.

Drew Gregerson led Kaiser with 13 points.
