Another rating period, another No. 1 ranking for adult contemporary 92.3 KSSK FM.

Despite the loss of more than a full share point from the previous Arbitron survey of listeners 12 and older the station is among four in the top 10 owned by Dallas-based Clear Channel Communications Inc.

Other Clear Channel stations in the top 10 are KSSK AM at No. 6, Hawaiian-reggae-formatted 98.5 KDNN FM "Island Rhythm," at No. 8, though it lost 3.4 share points and five positions over the year.

Talk-formatted KHVH 830 AM is tied at No. 10 with "Oldies" 107.9 KGMZ FM. The latter is owned by Florida-based Honolulu Broadcasting Inc. but is operated by Cox Radio Inc.

A share point is 1 percent of the radio audience.

The most dramatic increase among the top 10 stations was the three-share-point, eight-position gain by contemporary hit radio/rhythmic formatted 102.7 KDDB FM to claim the No. 7 spot. It is owned by New Wave Broadcasting LP.

The four top-10 stations owned by Atlanta-based Cox Radio Inc. are contemporary Hawaiian and reggae formatted 100.3 KCCN FM at No. 2; Hawaiian 105.3 KINE FM is ranked third; 96.3 KRTR FM's adult contemporary sound is No. 5; and 104.3 KXME FM has slipped from No. 6 to No. 9.

The No. 4 station, 94.7 KUMU FM, has not been a top-10 powerhouse station for many years but has recently started a slow and steady climb back up the ratings ladder. It is owned by Washington, D.C.-based Maverick Media.
