Two Hawaii photographers, Michael Gilbert and Randy Hufford, are among 13 chosen for the "Worlds Within Worlds" exhibition of digital photography taking place on Maui through Feb. 28.

The exhibition, sponsored by Olympus America Inc. and Pictorico Ink Jet Media, and featuring up-and-coming photographers, opened in San Francisco last October and was shown in New York before moving to Hawaii's Pacific Center of Photography.

In spite of the new medium, the show is being presented in a traditional gallery to show the depth and dimension made possible by new cameras and ceramic-coated paper.

The other photographers are Jeff Dorgay, Douglas Dubler, Paul Eekhoff, Paulo Filgueiras, Mark Garten, Michael Gilbert, Mark Greenberg, Judy Herrmann, Randy Huffords, John Isaac, Greg Kinch, Ian Macdonald Smith and Mike Starke.

More than 50 images will be on view, covering a broad range of subjects including photojournalism, still life, fashion, nature and portraiture.

The Pacific Center of Photography is at 96 Central Ave. in Wailuku, Maui.
