William B. "Bill" Beard, 51, of Vista, Calif., formerly of Honolulu, a building contractor and former president of Pacific General Contractors and First General Services of Honolulu, died Jan. 4 in California. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was born in Jacksonville, Fla. He is survived by wife Ruth A. "George," son Scott, parents William and Wanda, brothers James and Larry, and a grandchild. No services. Scattering of ashes off Waikiki at a later date.

George Paao Bell, 56, of Ewa Beach, died Jan. 9. He was born at Hanauma Bay. He is survived by wife Lorriane "Ui"; sons Gino Bell, Benjamin K.O. Mount and Adam Hailama Josiah Lono; daughters Luci-Ann Momi Bell, Donna Ui Miguel and Estellena R.U.B. Comilang; brothers Matthew and Lawrence DeFrancia, Jimmy Kanae and David Shaw; sisters Audrey Cambra, Violet Nakamura and Estelle Cruz; and 10 grandchildren. Lena Bennett, 83, of Pearl City, died Monday. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by husband Berlin, son Gene, daughter Shirley, brother Edward Medeiros, sisters Alice Ross and Mabel Freitas, and four grandsons. Ruth Moats Bodkin, 65, of Georgia and Lahaina, a retired cosmetician, died Jan. 10 in Lahaina. She was born in Elkins, W.Va. She is survived by companion Jimmy Smith; daughters Deborah Romero, Dorlina Somerville and Timothy; five sisters; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Private services.

Michael Kerry Clark, 47, of Honolulu, died Jan. 6 in Honolulu. He was born in Puunene, Maui. Jack Robley Dean, 80, of Lihue, an airplane pilot, died Friday in Wilcox Memorial Hospital. He was born in Washington. Loren Edward Fredricksen II, 45, of Lahaina, owner of Loren's Custom Welding, died Tuesday in Lahaina. He was born in Santa Rosa, Calif. He is survived by wife Sheila F.; son Loren E. Gervacio "Johnny" Peralta, 89, of Honolulu, a retired employee for St. Francis Medical Center, died Jan. 11. He was born in the Philippines. She is survived by sons Alexander and Leonard Keahi; daughters Clarice Anita Willing, Margaret Keahi-Leary and Martha Nakagawa; sisters Isabella Spencer, Sarah Fujimori and Elizabeth Tamura; stepsons Charles, Billy and Major Rodrigues; stepdaughters Katherine Vincent and Olivia Mollena; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Suye N. Shiroma, 82, of Waipahu, a retired trimmer for Dole Cannery Corp., died Tuesday. She was born in Makawao, Maui. Eugene John Silva, 84, of Honolulu, a retired carpenter for the Navy Public Works Center, Pearl Harbor, died last Saturday. He is survived by sisters Agnes Ventura and Violet Miller. The mortuary provided additional information for an obituary published yesterday.

Judith Kazuko Tanigawa, 76, of Des Plaines, Ill., died Tuesday at home. She is survived by husband Hitoshi; daughter Joan Heinz; siblings Margaret Suzuki, Elsie Okubo and Fujio Sone; and five grandchildren. Benjamin Lucero Tomas, 74, of Waipahu, a retired sergeant first class for the U.S. Army, died Jan. 4. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by wife Rose; sons Larry, Bradley and Brian; daughters Renee Bonsilao; brothers Crispin and Aurelio; and nine grandchildren. Lynn Dolph Vaughan Jr., 84, of Honolulu, a retired lieutenant commander for the U.S. Navy, died Dec. 31. He also served as a naval aviator in World War II, the Vietnam War and the Korean War. He was born in Galax, Va. He is survived by wife Mary Patton Vaughan. Services at Arlington National Cemetery. Donations suggested to the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Chester Clair Yingst Jr., 60, of Kapolei, died Jan. 6. He was born in Wahiawa.
