Roosevelt took advantage of a pair of Waianae errors to take the lead in the fifth and held on for a 4-2 victory yesterday in the opening round of the Oahu Interscholastic Association softball playoffs.

Roosevelt travels to OIA East champion Castle today.

With Waianae leading 2-1 and two out in the top of the fifth, a Searider throwing error allowed Roosevelt's Ashlie Dutro and Justina Yanuana to score on Kristin Tanabe's ground ball.

Waianae surrendered three unearned runs in the game.
