Herbert Ah Kwai "Big Herb" Aki, 58, of Hilo, a truck driver for Holsum/Oroweat, died Friday in Kona Community Hospital. He was born in Honolulu. Francis Kam Pui Chung, 72, of Kaneohe, an employee for Royal Hawaiian Movers, died Thursday in Kuakini Medical Center. He was born in Hono-lulu. Roland Quon Hin Fong, 87, of Honolulu, a retired landscaper, died Jan. 8 in Kaiser Medical Center. He was born in Lihue. Simau Fonoimoana, 73, of Kekaha, Kauai, a retired tile contractor and commercial fisherman, died Jan. 7 in Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital. Gabriel K. Gaballo, infant son of Dominick Gaballo and Roberta Peterson, died Saturday in Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children. Harriet Ewaliko Grube, 79, of Wahiawa, a retired school-teacher, died Dec. 31. She was born in Honolulu. Ernest A. Jackson, 76, of Lexington, Mich., formerly of Hawaii, a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II, died Monday at home. Daniel Kelii Kanahele, 78, of Kihei, formerly of Honolulu, a retired real estate agent for Award Homes, died Thursday at home. He was also a retired crew chief air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration in Honolulu and he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was born in Lahaina. He is survived by sons Daniel K. and Marcus; stepson Nikolas Karayannakos; stepdaughters Pamela Crannell, Paulette Stabile and Beverly Botelho; brothers Albert, Ashley and Henry; sisters Winona Jensen, Thelma Sorenson, Eleanor Locey, Leialoha Kanahele, Jamsie Lindhom, Laura Aiko and Kauana Pukahi; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
