ASSOCIATED PRESS Maui resident Masaru "Pundy" Yokouchi, left, was among people honored yesterday in New York by the Association of Performing Arts Presenters for his advocacy and support for the performing arts. Yokouchi, shown here chatting with fellow award-winner and federal Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge during the awards luncheon, was instrumental in helping to raise funds for the $32 million Maui Arts & Cultural Center, for which he serves as chairman.
