Jason Elam's string of extra points continues into next year. Elam keeps record

nabramo@starbulletin.comThe Denver place-kicker was successful on his only extra point attempt in yesterday's 29-10 loss to Indianapolis and has now made 344 straight, an NFL record.
Elam also kicked a field goal of 25 yards but missed from 54 yards.
For the season, the former Hawaii standout finished with 124 points and was 31 of 31 on extra points and 31 of 36 (.861) on field goals.
Elam was selected to his third Pro Bowl last week and returns to Aloha Stadium for the Feb. 9 game.
Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala, Steelers: The running back (St. Louis/Utah) rushed 17 times for 98 yards and a touchdown in Pittsburgh's 28-7 win over Cleveland. He also caught two passes for 15 yards.
Fuamatu-Ma'afala, who has been starting in place of injured Jerome Bettis, finished the regular season with 453 yards on 120 carries and 16 receptions for 127 yards with four TDs.
Kimo von Oelhoffen, Steelers: The starting defensive end (Molokai/Boise State) made two tackles, including one solo stop, in Pittsburgh's win. He ended the regular season with 21 tackles with 18 solos and four sacks.
Jeff Ulbrich, 49ers: The starting linebacker (Hawaii) made four solo tackles in San Francisco's 38-0 victory over New Orleans. He finished the season with 63 tackles, including 49 solos, and a half sack.
Olin Kreutz, Bears: The starting center (St. Louis/Washington) and his offensive line mates allowed just one sack on quarterback Jim Miller and helped running back Anthony Thomas gain 160 yards and a TD on 33 carries in Chicago's 33-13 win over Jacksonville.
Kreutz was named to his first Pro Bowl team last week.
Chris Naeole, Saints: The starting guard (Kahuku/Colorado) and his linemates gave up three sacks on quarterback Aaron Brooks, and the New Orleans offense generated just 159 scrimmage yards in the Saints' loss.
Kynan Forney, Falcons: The starting guard (Hawaii) and his teammates allowed seven sacks on quarterback Michael Vick, and the Atlanta offense gained just 283 yards in a 31-13 loss to St. Louis.
Substitutes: Two players with Hawaii ties, backup tight end Itula Mili (Kahuku/Brigham Young) of the Seattle Seahawks and second-string center Dominic Raiola (St. Louis/Nebraska) of the Detroit Lions were used sparingly yesterday.
Not in uniform: Four players with Hawaii ties were not in uniform. Defensive linemen Mario Fatafehi (Farrington/Kansas State) of the Arizona Cardinals and Ma'a Tanuvasa (Mililani/Hawaii) of the San Diego Chargers and offensive tackle Adrian Klemm (Hawaii) of the New England Patriots are on injured reserve, while offensive lineman Kaulana Noa (Honokaa/Hawaii) is on the inactive list.
More final stats: Fatafehi ended the regular season with four tackles, while Tanuvasa played in only two games and made a sack.
Mili finished with eight catches for 98 yards and two TDs.
