Jessica Castillo, right, and the other dancers of Fiesta Mexicana Ballet Folklorico performed "La Madrugada" yesterday during the Three Kings Celebration at the United Puerto Rican Association of Hawaii. Three Kings Day, or El Dia de los Tres Reyes, commemorates the three wise men who found Jesus in the manger in Bethlehem. It is celebrated every year on Jan. 6 and is a major event in many Spanish-speaking areas.

Antonia Chaparro of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, placed a poster of the Puerto Rican mascot, a coqui frog, alongside a Christmas nativity scene yesterday at the Mi Bohio Puerto Rican Cultural Center in El Paso, Texas. The coqui inspires much less reverence in Hawaii.
