dbarayuga@starbulletin.comThe isle musician and Thomas Reed-Freimark were charged earlier this week with kidnapping and first-degree robbery. Reed-Freimark was also charged with first-degree terroristic threatening.
A District Court judge ruled Thursday there was probable cause that they committed the offenses, and sent the case to Circuit Court for trial. Bail for each was set at $50,000. They will be arraigned Jan. 17.
Another male also arrested with them was not charged.
According to court documents, police arrived at a 19th Avenue home Dec. 29 to investigate a resident's report that three men were threatening him with a knife.
Officers detained Rasmussen and two others as they were leaving the home in Rasmussen's car. A knife was recovered on the roof of the car, where Reed-Freimark had placed his hands before he was patted down and arrested.
The resident told officers the trio had gone to his home, forcing him to sign over the ownership papers.
He said Reed-Freimark punched him in the face and then held a knife to his neck while instructing him to sign the papers. He said Reed-Freimark threatened to kill him and his family if he did not do so.
Although it was not clear in court documents why the Kaimuki man was being threatened, investigators said he and Rasmussen had argued over some repairs he was supposed to make on Rasmussen's car.
