Star-Bulletin staff

Mark O'Meara and Brent Geiberger have joined the field for next week's Sony Open at Waialae Country Club, tournament spokesman Bill Bachran said yesterday.

O'Meara is coming off his best finish of last year. He finished tied for fourth at the Williams World Challenge in December.

Geiberger's best finish last season was a fifth-place tie, which he did in three events: The Buick Invitational, The Greater Milwaukee Open, and The Air Canada Championship.

Also, the field for Tuesday's First Hawaiian Bank's Pro-Junior Golf Challenge is complete.

Fred Couples and David Ishii join Paul Azinger, Brad Faxon, Tom Lehman and Scott Simpson to complete the pro field.

The juniors are Jarett Hamamoto, Ayumi Christina Hori, Stephanie Kono, Earl Medeiros, Michelle Wie and Gabriel Wilson.

Wahine reschedule game vs. UTEP

The postponed Hawaii vs. Texas-El Paso women's basketball game, originally scheduled for Dec. 30, has been rescheduled for Feb. 4 in El Paso, Texas.

On Dec. 30, a winter storm prevented the Wahine from catching a connecting flight from Salt Lake City to El Paso, forcing the postponement.

The UTEP game was the second of two scheduled road games for the Wahine (8-2, 1-0 Western Athletic Conference). Hawaii beat host Boise State 61-48 last Friday before attempting to make it to El Paso.
