Local cards say 'mahalo'

Now that the Christmas gifts have been opened and enjoyed, it's time to address the last part of the annual exchange. In case you've conveniently forgotten, sending out a little "thank you" note is the right thing to do, even if you've been too tired to keep up this little formality.

To help you in this matter, and just to be different, Kinohi Designs has "mahalo" cards with designs ranging from floating plumeria to the ulu quilt pattern shown, available exclusively at the Paperie in Kahala Mall. The price for a package set of 10 cards and envelopes is $10. The cards, created by Jennifer Chong, are also included in Kinohi Design's wedding invitation packages.

For more information, call the Paperie at 735-6464.

Fubu creates Ali styles

Fubu will expand its Platinum Fubu collection to include a limited-edition sportswear line inspired by boxing legend Muhammad Ali, and coinciding with the release of the film based on his career, starring Will Smith.

Images of Ali will be used throughout the collection, which will include silkscreened and embroidered T-shirts, team-styled jerseys, sweat suits and denim. Some of the line will feature quotes like "I am the greatest," "I'm a bad man!" and "I can't be beat," each encircling an image of Ali with his hands in the air.

This particular collection may take a while to get here, but look for Fubu products at Kramer's and your friendly neighborhood hip-hop shop.
