Saturday, December 15, 2001 The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Alexander & Baldwin Inc., whose stock hit its highest level in 912 months yesterday, gained 4.46 percent this week to lead 13 other members in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index. The real estate and ocean transportation company closed yesterday at $26, its highest finish since hitting $26.25 on Feb. 26. The stock is now down less than 1 percent this year. Schuler Homes Inc., which is being acquired by D.R. Horton Inc. in a $1.2 billion deal expected to close in January, was second with a 2.70 percent gain to $19.73 as rival homebuilders reported continued strength in the industry.
Ceatech USA Inc., which traded just 100 shares the entire week, brought up the rear with a decline of 14.12 percent to 73 cents.
Aquasearch Inc., which is in bankruptcy, fell 10.59 percent to 7.6 cents.
