Athletes of the Week

Boys

>> Ikaika Alama-Francis, Kalaheo basketball: Scored 26 points in the Mustangs' 71-61 win over Iolani in the championship game of the James Alegre Invitational. Alama-Francis averaged 18.6 points in the tournament.

Girls

>> Pilimilose Manupuna, Sacred Hearts softball: Hit two home runs, including a grand slam, and drove in seven runs in a 20-0 win over La Pietra on Dec. 5.

BASKETBALL

>> D.C. Daniels, Kalaheo: Hit for 28 points in the Mustangs' 59-45 win over Punahou in the semifinals of the James Alegre Invitational.

>> Derrick Thomas, Leilehua: Scored 23 points as the Mules defeated Kailua 56-44.

>> Derrick Low, Iolani: Poured in 24 points as the Raiders defeated Radford 67-35.

FOOTBALL

>> Nolan Miranda, Castle: Kicked field goals of 37 and 47 yards in the East's 27-19 win in the Hawaii Union Builders Goodwill Football Classic.

>> Abu Ma'afala, Kamehameha: The defensive lineman returned a fumble 59 yards for a touchdown for the West.

>> Dane Souza, Kalani: Recovered two fumbles and registered a sack for the East defense.

BOYS SOCCER

>> Landon Beers, Kaiser: Scored four goals to lead the Cougars to a 9-0 win over Farrington.

>> Keaka Lee, Kalani: Found the net three times as the Falcons beat McKinley 5-0.

>> Michael Ryman, Campbell: Scored three goals in the Sabers' 6-0 win over Leilehua.

>> Brian Bollinger, Seabury Hall: Scored a goal with less than a minute left in the match to give the Spartans a 1-0 win over defending MIL champion Baldwin. Seabury Hall's upset snapped Baldwin's 17-game winning streak.

GIRLS SOCCER

>> Allison Lee, Kaiser: Booted three goals for the Cougars in an 11-0 victory over Farrington.

>> Chante Figueroa, Pearl City: Scored five goals as the Chargers routed Waialua 11-0.

>> Mele French, Mililani: Scored four goals to lead the Trojans to an 18-0 win over Waipahu.

SOFTBALL

>> Lea Pearina, Castle: Tossed a five-inning no-hitter in the Knights' 14-0 win over Kalaheo.

>> Johnna Rowland, Mililani: Slammed two homers, drove in three runs and earned the win on the mound in the Trojans' 13-0 win over Radford.

>> Tita Noga, Waipahu: Went 3-for-4 with a homer and five RBIs to lead the Marauders to a 15-1 win over Aiea.

>> Jazminn Yamamoto, Moanalua: Drove in three runs as the Menehunes beat Roosevelt 5-1.

>> Kate Robinson, Kamehameha: Tossed a five-inning no-hitter and went 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run and a triple in the Warriors' 19-0 win over La Pietra.

>> Ashley Ruff, Kamehameha: Hit home runs in both of her plate appearances against La Pietra.

SWIMMING

>> Noa Sakamoto, Punahou: Won three events at the ILH Invitational meet at Punahou. The sophomore won the 50-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and was on the victorious 200-yard freestyle relay team.

>> Jared Heine, Pac-Five: Finished first in the boys 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke.

>> Keala O'Sullivan, Kamehameha: Won the girls 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1 minute, 4.26 seconds, more than seven seconds ahead of her nearest competitor. She was also a member of the Warriors' winning 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relay teams.
