Alice Olival Almond, 84, of Kaneohe, a retired long-term sales clerk for Liberty House, died Friday in Straub Medical Center. She was also a caregiver. She was born in Honokaa, Hawaii. She is survived by son Alan D., brothers Stephen and Manuel Olival, sister Bessie Andrade, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Freda M. Braidwood, 88, of Waikoloa, Hawaii, a retired cosmetologist, died Dec. 4 in Kona Community Hospital. She was born in England. Philip Myeng Whon Choo, 82, of Honolulu, a retired merchant seaman for Matson Navigation Co., died Sunday in Kuakini Medical Center. He was born in Koloa, Kauai. Carolina Clemente Cunningham, 72, of Kaneohe, a piano, organ and voice teacher, died Sunday in Kaneohe. She was also a former United Methodist deaconess. She was born in the Philippines. Travis Matthew Hovey, 23, of Kailua, a student and delivery driver for Napa Auto Parts, died Dec. 3 in Provo, Utah. He was born in Honolulu. Romeo Villasan Quilitorio, 70, of Kunia, a private janitorial contractor for Subic Bay U.S. Naval Base, died yesterday in Tripler Army Medical Center. He was born in the Philippines. Arlene Hooheno Kahookele Staton, 61, of Fayetteville, N.C., formerly of Ookala, Hawaii, a military police officer for the U.S. Army Women's Army Corps, died Nov. 25 in Fayetteville. She was born in Ookala. She is survived by husband Russell W.; son Mervin Kalakapua; daughters Roxanna Haunani Staton-McGraw and Catherine Leilani Staton; sisters Edna May Kahookele-Smith, Rosemond H.
