Urban Decay's Honey is an edible all-over face and body shimmer powder.

Sweeten up
holiday evenings with
honey and glitz

The holidays are all about multisensory overload, so why stop at just looking good?

The makeup counter resembles a kitchen these days with ingredients like vitamin C, green tea and milk making their way into cosmetic formulations.

Philosophy products sound delicious, with three "cookbooks" to choose from. Try "Baked Goods" bath products ($30) with the scents of cinnamon buns, banana nut bread, pumpkin pie and chocolate chip cookies, all of which, of course, are highly rated male aphrodisiacs.

At Sephora, prepare for your evening out or host a girls' or womens' night out with Jaqua's Top-To-Toe Spa Night ($37.50). It features six invitations plus Honey Almond Hand Mask, Citrus Foot Salts, Pumpkin Papaya Face Mask, Mango Jojoba Moisturizer, Geranium Aromatherapy Spa Spray, Chamomile Eye Soothers, candles, pumice stone and body scrubber.

You can also scrub yourself smooth with Fresh's Brown Sugar Body Polish ($58) or DHC's Pacific Rim Salt Scrub ($28), a tempting body butter of macadamia, sweet almond, avocado and virgin olive oil.

As appetizing as it all sounds, the products aren't meant to be eaten, save for Urban Decay's Honey ($25), a shimmery golden powder which will leave you tasting sweet and glowing like an angel, even if you've been naughty this year.

To help you get the look you want, Sephora is offering free makeovers and mini facials at its Ala Moana Center store on Thursday. Ejay Maldonado, international director of beauty for Hawaii-based Body & Soul Cosmetics, will show the company's latest products.

Mini facials will feature products from Davies Gates, a skin care line featuring ingredients like poppy seeds and jojoba. The event is from 2 to 6 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Call 944-9797 for information.

Sign up to win Sephora's $1,000 shopping spree. Anyone 18 and older can fill out an entry blank at the store through Sunday. The winner will be announced during the store's "Extreme Beauty" event Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., with free first-come, first-served makeovers by Maldonado, hair styling by Malama -- An Aveda Lifestyle Salon and Spa, and digital photos. Body & Soul founder/president Tao Miller will be there for modeling of Body & Soul apparel. Those making a Body & Soul purchase will receive a free gift.
