All-American for third timeThe 5-foot-9 setter is the first Sea Warrior to earn first-team honors three times.
Tuitele played in every match for HPU in her four-year career, helping the team post a 103-13 record and win two national championships.
"It's just amazing, shocking really," Tuitele said. "I really didn't think I would get another All-America award this year.
"We didn't have the talent that we had in the past on this year's team, so I accept this award on behalf of my teammates," she said. "I didn't think I played my best this year, I just thank God for keeping me healthy."
Tuitele ranks 10th all-time in Divsion II with a career average of 12.11 assists per game. She is the school leader in assists, with 4,748. She is third in school history with 247 blocks and second with 106 service aces.
This season's Pacific West Conference player of the year, Tuitele has also been named all-region three straight times.
The NCAA Division II Player of the Year award will be named Dec. 14.
Hawaii men's volleyball ticket renewals ending
Renewal for Hawaii men's volleyball season tickets ends tomorrow.The Warriors open the season on Jan. 8 and 9, with a pair of home matches against Loyola of Chicago.
This season's home schedule also includes matches against UCLA, Penn State, Long Beach State and Brigham Young.
