SPREADING ALOHA IN THE BIG APPLE

Hawaii was represented in yesterday's annual Macy's
Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Above,
the Pearl City High School marching band performed
at the end of the parade route. Also in the parade were
the Old Lahaina Luau Dancers, below, whose float
appeared before NBC television cameras for 90
seconds, and who were seen by an estimated 65
million viewers across America. While in New
York, the dancers also visited the Clinton Senior
Center at 55th West and 10th Avenue for a
"kokua" performance following the seniors'
Thanksgiving party.

Karl Honma of the Big Island, right, was the fastest
finisher of yesterday's annual Turkey Trot with a time
of 1 hour, 11 seconds. Michael Georgi of Makiki, left,
was second with a time of 1 hour, 17 seconds. In this
10-mile run, runners are rewarded for correctly
predicting their finishing time.
