Daniel Maikai Akuna, 76, of Waimea, Kauai, a heavy equipment operator for Gay & Robinson, died Saturday in Mahelona Hospital. He was also in the U.S. Army. Alejandrea Balasan Barrios, 73, of Naalehu, Hawaii, a laborer for Kau Agribusiness, died Saturday at home. She was born in the Philippines.
