Hawaii's Kimo von Oelhoffen was a big part of Pittsburgh's 20-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars yesterday. Von Oelhoffen digs in
for Steelers in victoryThe starting defensive end (Molokai High School/Boise State) recovered two fumbles and made one sack on Jacksonville quarterback Jonathan Quinn, who was replacing injured starter Mark Brunell.
Von Oelhoffen's first fumble recovery halted a Jaguars' drive at the Steelers' 32-yard line with Pittsburgh leading just 6-0.
His second fumble recovery came on the second-to-last play of the game.
Jeff Ulbrich, 49ers: The starting linebacker (University of Hawaii) had another giant game, making eight tackles, including six solo stops in San Francisco's 25-22 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Mario Fatafehi, Cardinals: The backup defensive tackle (Farrington High School/Kansas State) came through with three tackles, including one solo, in Arizona's 45-38 victory over the Detroit Lions.
Jason Elam, Broncos: The place-kicker (Hawaii) booted a 33-yard field goal and added one extra point in Denver's 17-10 loss to the Washington Redskins.
Dominic Raiola, Lions: The backup center (St. Louis School/University of Nebraska) was on the field quite a bit with Detroit's special teams in a 45-38 loss to Arizona. He's part of the wedge on kickoff returns (the Cardinals kicked off eight times) and as a wing blocker on field goals (the Lions attempted one) and extra points (five more Lions' attempts).
Chris Naeole, Saints: The starting guard (Kahuku High School/University of Colorado) and his teammates on the offensive line allowed four sacks of quarterback Aaron Brooks in New Orleans' 34-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts. But they helped make it possible for Brooks to throw for 249 yards and for Ricky Williams to rush for 120.
Olin Kreutz, Bears: The starting center (St. Louis School/University of Washington) and his linemates allowed three sacks of quarterback Jim Miller, who passed for 228 yards and three touchdowns in Chicago's 27-24 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Itula Mili, Seahawks: The backup tight end (Kahuku High School/Brigham Young) caught one pass for 16 yards in Seattle's 23-20 victory over the Buffalo Bills.
Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala, Steelers: The backup running back (St. Louis School/University of Utah) carried the ball once for 1 yard and was used on special teams in Pittsburgh's win over Jacksonville.
Kynan Forney, Falcons: The backup guard (Hawaii) was used sparingly on the offensive line in Atlanta's 23-20 upset of Green Bay.
