Star-Bulletin staff

Brandon Malama rushed for 55 yards and scored three touchdowns and two other running backs went over the 100-yard mark as Waimea roughed up Castle 41-20 and advanced to a meeting with defending state champion Kahuku.

Castle had no answer for Waimea's running game, which churned out 448 yards. Chelsey Barba rumbled for 152 yards on 30 carries and Timmy Chang-Wo added 167 yards.

Castle grabbed a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a Loren Lum 7-yard touchdown scamper, but it was all Menehunes after that.

Waimea reeled off the next 28 points to take firm control.

Castle's Joel Botelho passed for 274 yards and two touchdowns in the losing effort.
