Gesser game for
Apple Cup after injury

The former St. Louis Schools
quarterback won't let a
concussion keep him out

Associated Press

Washington State kept its Pac-10 Conference championship hopes alive with a 28-16 win over Arizona State last week, but Jason Gesser left the game in the third quarter with a slight concussion.

Coach Mike Price expected his starter to be ready to face Washington in the Apple Cup game in Seattle on Saturday.

"Any time you can't help your team out is hard," Gesser, the former St. Louis School standout, said in The Seattle Post-Intelligencer. "I'm used to being out there making things happen, taking care of everyone. I want to be out there and help my team."

The Cougars (9-1 overall) are tied with Oregon for first place in the Pac-10 at 6-1. The Ducks would win a tiebreaker because of their victory over WSU.
