VA offers medical care,
counseling for Gulf vets

Question: What is the VA doing to help veterans of Desert Shield and Desert Storm?

Answer: The VA offers Gulf War Registry health examinations, special eligibility medical care at no cost to veterans, and disability compensation (for veterans with service-connected conditions). VA vet centers offer counseling for veterans. The Oahu Vet Center is located at 1680 Kapiolani Boulevard, Suite F-3, Honolulu, telephone 973-8387. Neighbor island vet centers are located on the islands of Hawaii, Kauai and Maui. The VA has an outreach program to share information with Gulf War veterans and other interested individuals regarding medical developments, benefit changes, and related matters. It also is conducting scientific research to learn more about the causes of and treatments for the health problems of these veterans.

If you have questions about your benefits as a veteran,
