Let's give state Rep. Paul Whalen the benefit of the doubt. Tales from
the tooth fairyLet's trust him when he says he wasn't trying to put one over on the public when he introduced a resolution to privatize two boat harbors during the state Legislature's special session, called because of Hawaii's economic crisis.
Let's believe that the 31 House members who approved the resolution didn't mean to sneak through the measure without allowing voters to comment on this divisive issue.
Let's not question Whalen's reasoning that privatizing the harbors needed to be done immediately to save the economy.
Then let's go to Brooklyn and buy a bridge.
