Napa wine shines at fair

A trip to wine country in Napa Valley sure sounds great. Don't have the time to make the trek?

That's OK. On Saturday, Napa comes to you, in the form of a downtown street fair where 100 wines will be poured for tasting.

"Napa Comes to Nuuanu," a benefit for Victoria Foundation, a clearinghouse for children's charities, takes place from 5 to 10:30 p.m. on Nuuanu Avenue, from Pauahi to King Street, and on Hotel Street from Bethel to Smith.

There also will be food from Roy's Restaurant, 3660 on the Rise, Parc Café, Side Street Inn, Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar, Nalo Farms and Honolulu Coffee Co. Cost is $40.

Entertainment will include Dragon Fly, Keali'i Kaneali'i and Hot Chocolate. There also will be an art sale featuring local artists, massages by Serenity Spa, fortune telling and wine classes. Non-wine drinkers may partake of the entertainment free, paying for their food and drink separately from cocktail bars and a food pavilion.

Tickets are available at Indigo, Island Keepsakes and Pitre Fine Arts on Nuuanu Avenue or at the door. Call 545-4195.
