Ma‘a Tanuvasa
out for season

San Diego defensive tackle Ma'a Tanuvasa had two screws inserted in his broken left ankle and is out for the season.

Tanuvasa, an eight-year NFL veteran and two-time Super Bowl champion for the Denver Broncos, was signed Oct. 3 after Jamal Williams blew out a knee.

The Chargers will replace Tanuvasa with either end Al Fontenot or tackle Mike Mohring.

Tanuvasa is a former Mililani High School and University of Hawaii standout.
