rlynch@starbulletin.comMediation is an important alternative but there are others, such as the protest rules of the various government agencies and provisions of the Contract Disputes Act of 1978, says the Aloha Chapter of the National Contract Management Association, organizer of the event.
Attorneys making the presentations will be Terry E. Thomason, Jonathan A. Swanson and Danielle Conway-Jones, all of the law firm of Carlsmith Ball LLP.
The organizers said the event should be of interest to contractors and federal contracting officials who want to know more about their rights and obligations and how to resolve the problems that arise in the processes of soliciting, awarding and performing federal contracts.
The 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. workshop, in the Waikiki Ballroom of the Hale Koa Hotel will include a light dinner, text materials and parking validation for a total of $50 per person.
