[AT WORK]
LIWAYWAY PICAR >> I only do this part-time, six hours a day, two days a week, but I love it. It isn't hard. You watch the parking lot and talk to the people and make sure everything's safe. The people are lovely. I've made many friends here and everyone has a wave for me as they go in and out. I like that. What other job do you get to see everyone coming and going? And I'm outside in the fresh air. Parking lot attendant

My youngest daughter brought me to Hawaii when she moved here. The rest of my kids and my grandkids are in Manila. I'm a widow and I work for them, my family. They always need money, the poor kids, but money is so hard to earn. So many people need jobs, I'm grateful for this one, even two days a week. I wish I could do more. I need other jobs. Sometimes I'm crying and praying for more work. A soul needs work to feel whole, a body needs work to put food on the table.
And so I really appreciate it when the nice people talk to me and wave. I love this job.
