Food Bank needs
plenty of deposits

All it takes is a can of Spam. Or tuna, or vegetable soup. All it takes is a bag of rice or a sack of beans. All it takes is a jar of guava jelly or peanut butter.

With so many people out of work because of the state's economic crisis, small donations will make a big difference in replenishing the stores of the Hawaii's food banks, which have been depleted in recent weeks.

The Hawaii Automobile Dealers Association along with KSSK radio, MidWeek and the Star-Bulletin are leading a food-collection drive through November. Bins have been set up at participating car dealerships and monetary donations are being taken by food banks on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island.

Bins have been placed in the Star-Bulletin's newsroom and business offices, so come on by. We're in Suites 210 and 500 in 7 Waterfront Plaza at 500 Ala Moana Blvd., better known as Restaurant Row. Bring a can of corn or a box of pasta. That's all it takes to help.
