Wahine wallop The Hawaii volleyball team continued its block party last night.
Owls to go to

Duggins comes up big with
9 blocks in a sweep over RiceStar-Bulletin staff
Lauren Duggins led the Wahine with nine blocks as Hawaii defeated Rice 30-10, 30-14, 30-21 in its second Western Athletic Conference match. Hawaii dominated the net with 12 blocks to Rice's four. The Owls had not been outblocked this season.
The Wahine (9-4, 2-0 WAC) have won six straight, while the Owls (6-5, 1-2) dropped their second consecutive conference match.
Kim Willoughby led the Wahine again with 17 kills, while Maja Gustin chipped in 11 kills.
"We had another good night," Hawaii coach Dave Shoji said. "The team has focused very well on the road trip. We pretty much dominated a pretty good Rice team. We just seem to be getting better and better."
The Wahine overpowered the Owls in the first two games, outhitting them .471 to .000.
Rice led 7-2 in Game 3, but its lead quickly evaporated, as Hawaii knotted the score at 9.
Rice, however, surged ahead behind the hitting of Rebeca Pazo, who had three kills. The Wahine spent most of the game chasing the Owls until they caught them at 17-17. From there, Hawaii closed out the match with a 13-4 run.
"It looked smooth out there," Shoji said. "Hopefully we can just get one more in Tulsa."
The Wahine conclude their road trip tomorrow with a 2 p.m. match against Tulsa.
