Valasi Sepulona, Chaminade freshman: The 5-foot 8-inch outside hitter from Honolulu was named PacWest Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Silverswords to their first victories over Brigham Young-Hawaii in 16 years, ending a 46-match drought. In the wins, Sepulona posted a pair of double-doubles (kills-digs) and match-highs in kills (18, 20) both nights.Roberta Robert, HPU senior: The 6-foot outside hitter combined for 50 kills and 58 digs in two matches against Western New Mexico on Monday and Tuesday to extend the Sea Warriors' consecutive-win streak to 40. Her kill and dig totals each night were match-highs.
Nia Tuitele, HPU senior: The 5-9 setter notched her 4,000th career assist last weekend against Montana State-Billings and her school-record total stands at 4,201.
Cross country
Christian Madsen, HPU junior: The 5-11 Dane won his third straight race of the year Saturday, finishing the Hawaii Invitational at Kaneohe in 15 minutes, 55 seconds.
Water polo
Petar Samac, Chaminade junior: The 6-foot utility player scored a match-high five goals in last Friday's game against Brigham Young-Hawaii. It was the Silverswords' first win over the Seasiders, and evened their five-game series this year at 1-1.
