by Michael Little, (Triple Tree Publishing, $14.95)Oh, here's a romantic comedy in which the author has the good sense to write short, punchy sentences. The humor is natural and unforced. And nearly every page has a food reference. It made me hungry. As for the rest of it, it's a cheerful brio of rodeo characters livin' and lovin' on the circuit, told with a twinkle and no end of observant wit. None of it takes place in Hawaii, but the author is a local resident, and claims this is the middle volume of a trilogy, "as soon as he can figure out what happened in the second book before the stuff that happened in the first book, and then what happened in the third book after the stuff that happened in the first and second books." Sounds like deep, deep plotting.
