Aloha goes to direct parking

To facilitate the incoming traffic flow for Hawaii football games, Aloha Stadium officials in concert with the Hawaii Police Department and the NFL will launch the new direct parking system used at the Pro Bowl earlier this year.

Once a car enters the gate, the only area you will be able to park is the one specified for that gate. No crossover will be allowed. The new system also eliminates the need to drive around the stadium looking for a parking space.

Gate 1, the main entrance off Salt Lake, will be the entry for bus lot and parking areas 1-7. Gate 2, the north Kamehameha entrance will be for parking areas 8-14. The Halawa entrance or Gate 3 will be used only for the upper Halawa parking lot.

Gate 4, the lower Salt Lake entrance, will be for the Halawa parking lot only and Gate 5, which is the Kamehameha lot entrance is for the Kamehameha lot only.

The stadium tailgate policy continues as before: Parking stalls are on a first come, first serve basis. Reserving or saving stalls is prohibited. Vehicles, tables, chairs, barbecue pits and tents must be confined to one stall.

Groups may park next to each other and share the parking stalls, but there can't be an empty stall among groups. Grass areas between stalls may be used for tailgating. Pegging of tents in parking areas is prohibited and punishable by fines up to $500.
