HOPES FOR A PICTURE-PERFECT WORLD

Jefferson Elementary School students Daniel Perrera,
Megan Yamaguchi, Bronson Baron, Kristene Moon,
Kanani Rose and Grabriel Camacho, from left, were
among the 600 students who created hundreds of
drawn figures as a peace message to the world. The
creations were then hung along the length of one of
the school's fences yesterday afternoon.



GETTING READY TO PAINT WITH FISH

Fifth-graders from Kaulani, Kauluwela, Lanakila, Liholiho,
Nuuanu and St. Theresa learned yesterday about the island's
water cycle, groundwater, stream habitats, ahupuaa, taro loi
and more at the Palama Settlement. The event included
gyotaku fish painting. Students, at left, look over some
fish which they later put paint on to make patterns on paper.
