HERTHA 'BOBBE' JOHNSON / 1915-2001



William "Bill" B. Elston, 89, of Waipahu, a retired mason, died Tuesday. He was born in Cleveland. He is survived by wife Irene, son Halford, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services: 7 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Waipahu. Call 6-9 p.m. Aloha attire. Burial on the mainland at a later date.

Antone "Tony" Gonzales, 80, of Kailua, a retired blacksmith for the federal government and a judo and aikido professor, died last Saturday in Kailua. He is also survived by daughter Rona Wilson. Burial: 1 p.m. Monday at Hawaiian Memorial Park. Incorrect information was provided for an obituary published Thursday.

Louise "Esang" Hezekia, 76, of Aiea, died Sept. 7. Services: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Burial: 11 a.m. at Mililani Memorial Park. The mortuary provided incorrect information for an obituary published Thursday.

Gordon Isamu Inouye, 49, of Kapaa, Kauai, a courier driver for S.K. Hanchett Inc., died Tuesday. He was born in Ewa. He is survived by wife Kathleen Yukiko, parents Samuel Osamu and Masano, and sister Joann S. Ikemori. Services: 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Scattering of ashes: 8 a.m. next Saturday at Kalihiwai Beach, Kauai. Casual attire. No flowers.

Antonio Castilliano Israel, 91, of Honolulu, died Sept. 6. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by stepsons Paul and Herman Troche, 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Services: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, makai chapel. Call after 9:30 a.m. Burial: 12:30 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park. Casual attire. No flowers.

Herbert Anton Stangl, 68, of Honolulu, a retired chief petty officer for the U.S. Navy with the specialty of electronics technician, died Wednesday in Tripler Army Medical Center. He was born in Czechoslovakia. He is survived by wife Norma Lou and son Edward Anton. No services. Burial at sea to be performed by the U.S. Navy.

Marsha Lynn Tagami-Tao, also known as Chris Kobayashi, 51, of San Francisco, formerly of Hawaii, a journalist, died Sept. 3 at home. She was also an editor, media relations consultant, public television talk-show host, biographer and documentary film producer. She was born in Japan. She is survived by parents Kan and Sadae Tagami, brothers Randy and John, sister Janis Yamauchi and dear friend Tammie Yee. Services on the mainland.

Harumi "Mildred" Tokumoto, 84, of Wahiawa, who worked for the Wahiawa Community School adult program, died Sept. 7. She was born in Wiamea. She is survived by son Calvin, brother Larry Odagiri, sister Irene Odagiri and two grandchildren. Services: 6:30 p.m. Monday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Call after 5:30 p.m. Casual attire.

Louise Thomson Whalin, 83, of Paso Robles, Calif., formerly of Hawaii, a retired employee of the Seventh-day Adventist denomination, died Thursday in Templeton, Calif. She was born in Pineland, Texas. She is survived by daughter Karen, foster daughter Jo Jackson, stepson Melvyn, sisters Julia Snyder and Lienda Jones, six stepgrandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Services on the mainland.
