Saturday, September 1, 2001 The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Maui Land & Pineapple Co. surged 8.57 percent to outpace 13 other stocks this week in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index. Maui Land & Pineapple leads the way
The company's stock, which trades at $26.60, is up 12.59 percent this year.
Central Pacific Bank parent CPB Inc. and City Bank parent CB Bancshares Inc. advanced 5.65 percent and 2.70 percent, respectively, to take the next two spots.
Aquasearch Inc. trailed the pack as it dropped 8.16 percent and saw its stock price fall to 22.5 cents.
