David Forrest Chapman, 25, of Kihei, Maui, a student at Haleakala Waldorf School and Seabury School, died Wednesday in Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Long Island, N.Y. He is survived by companion Kathy Bua; parents Robert and Iris; brother Michael; and grandmother Sylvia Kogel. Graveside services: 11 a.m. tomorrow. at Valley Isle Memorial Park. Casual attire. Gordon H. Chun, 63, of Honolulu, a retired police officer and co-founder of SHOPO, died Aug. 19 in Kuakini Medical Center. He is survived by wife Marie B.; son Darrin; daughters Gordean Steinman, Marlene Wong and Helene Hoe; brothers George Beaver, Charles Cypher, Gilmore and Grover; sisters Haroldine Adams, Aloma Myers and Charlene LaVigne; and six grandchildren. Private services held at Mililani Memorial Park.

Mary Harvest Lee Gilman, 76, of Kaaawa, a part-time Waiahole Elementary School teacher, died Thursday. She was born in Kaimuki. She is survived by husband Douglas N. Sr.; sons James K.F. "Kimo," Carlton K.M. and Derrick E.K.T. Lee; daughter LaVerne U. Kiaha; stepsons Douglas Jr., Charles K. and William K.; stepdaughters Charlene Manago and Carolyn; brother Charles Harvest; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and 9:15 a.m. Thursday at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Call after 6 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday. Howard W. Hill, 77, of Honolulu, a retired detective sergeant with the Pennsylvania Bureau of Police and retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, died Aug. 17 in Tripler Army Medical Center. He is survived by wife Louise; daughters Marcia R. and Michelle R.; brother Daniel; sister Loraine Franklin; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Barney Kahai Joy, 94, of Honolulu died Aug. 2. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by daughter Rosella Newell; brother Allen; sisters Thelma Shigaki, Elaine Hansinger and Mona Lum; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Private services held.

Aloysius Kalaeone Poaha, 93, of Honolulu, died Aug. 17 in Hale Ho Aloha Nursing Home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by daughter Dell-Fin Kalaupaona III Poaha Luchinger; brother Lawrence "Toto" Correa; two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Antonio "Bobo" "Tony" Robert, 34, of Hilo, Hawaii, died Monday. He was born in Micronesia. He is survived by wife Tina Joseph; daughter Cassandra Joseph-Robert; and brother Timson. Charles Takeo Sugimoto, 80, of Hilo, a retired carpenter for the Hawaii County Public Works Department, and a U.S. Army World War II veteran, died Thursday in the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Laupahoehoe, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Doris Toshiko; sons Arnold and Barry; daughter Doreen Taga; sisters Beatrice Toshiko Tanoue and Yoshie Tarumoto; and six grandchildren. Sophie Abing Tavanlar, 89, of Honolulu, a retired Waimano Home registered nurse and cosmetologist, died Monday. She was born in the Philippines. Jessie Daryn Williams, 1, infant daughter of Kenneth E. and Leslie D., died July 28 in Tripler Army Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu. She also is survived by paternal grandparents Henry Williams and Violet Collins; and maternal grandparents Larry and Edith Owens. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at the Main Chapel at Tripler Army Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to the Leukemia Society of Hawaii, HUGS, or the Hawaii Children's Cancer Society.

Ann Natsuyo Yamashita, 96, of Honolulu, a retired custodian at Jarrett Intermediate School, died Aug. 18. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by son Thomas; sisters Marion Odo, Helen Abe and Kay; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Private services held at Tensho Kotai Jingu Kyo, Hawaii Dojo.

Miriam Chee Yap, 86, of Honolulu died Aug. 16. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by daughters Carolyn Kasamoto, Arlene Okumoto and Lorene; and five grandchildren. Private services. The mortuary provided additional information for an obituary published Friday.
