[ MAUKA Star MAKAI ]

KEN IGE / KIGE@STARBULLETIN.COM
1. Let the game begin! Smokum the bull enters the ring while,
from left to right, Kyle Clark of Oklahoma, Jesse Tiller of Texas,
and Jake Luquin of Oregon try not to make
eye contact with Smokum.

Just another
game of poker...
cowboy style

There is only one rule in this poker game --
don't leave your seat. The winner of Cowboy
Poker is the last guy sittin' at the table.
No money is lost, no clothes are shed.
There isn't even a deck of cards. ...

2. Uh oh! Jesse Tiller seems to be IT. Smokum gives him a
good nudge ... but turns away from the table. Hey, I thought
bulls were attracted to the color red. Tiller sat back down.

3. But Smokum came back -- OUCH! -- and hit Tiller square
in the back. Note the other two boys are still sittin', still competin',
still livin' up to that macho, cowboy reputation.

4. Smokum turns the party upside down as Tiller takes
to the air and Clark gets drilled.

... Just a bunch of good ol' boys, a table
and a, uh, bull. Did we mention the table
is in a bullring? And a raging bull
is released into the ring to let
the games begin?
Children, don't try this at home.

5. Smokum continues to pummel Clark, just missing his vital parts.

KEN IGE / KIGE@STARBULLETIN.COM
6. Then Smokum went back for Tiller, who eventually
limped away. Luquin, the last guy sittin', won the game.
